Underfloor Heating Electricity Consumption

All heating systems consume energy to make heating. For this reason, even in the heat pump application, which is the cheapest heating system in the world, some energy is consumed for the cycle. The methods and efficiency of heating systems also affect energy expenditure.

However, the floor heating system stands out among the preferred heating systems to save energy. Underfloor heating consumes less energy because there is less heat loss. Carbon film heaters are a system used in underfloor heating.

Carbon film heaters are a type of heating element used in underfloor heating systems. Carbon film works directly using electricity. Each square meter of film has a power of 110-240 watts. That is, 1m2 of film consumes 240 watts of electricity in 1 hour, even if it is operated continuously without using a thermostat. However, carbon film heaters thermostats in direct proportion to the heat loss and never operate continuously. The thermostat turns on or off depending on the heat loss in the environment. Thermostat control or activation depends on the heat loss in the environment where they are located.

Underfloor heating systems can be used with different materials used in underfloor heating. For example, it can be laid on materials such as ceramic, stone, wood or laminate. For this reason, underfloor heating systems create a more spacious atmosphere in the interior of the house by providing a decorative appearance.

Underfloor heating systems are a more economical and comfortable option for heating the place where they are used. These systems, which are preferred both in homes and offices, save energy and are an environmentally friendly heating method.

Underfloor heating systems are similar to other heating systems in terms of energy consumption. Every heating system consumes energy to compensate for heat loss. However, underfloor heating systems, especially carbon film heaters, operate using direct electricity and therefore have a higher electricity consumption.

For example, for a 20 m2 normal insulated living room, the amount of heat loss can be considered as 1600 watts. In this case, the total film power can be increased to 3600 watts by using a 15 mt-tulle carbon film heater. However, since the amount of heat loss in the environment is 1600 watts, the system will remain active for an average of 25-26 minutes per hour. This means that the consumption will be 1600 watts, not 3600. So there will be 1.6 kW consumption per hour.

For 8 hours of operation per day, this room will have the potential to consume 12.8 kW of electricity, 384 kW per month. When 1 USD/kW is used as the electricity price, the monthly consumption cost will be 384 USD. Therefore, it is important to be careful about energy consumption, to be economical, and to use a thermostat when using carbon film heaters.

In this way, you can easily make your calculations for each room, and you will not encounter unexpected surprises before applying. You can also find detailed information about our under-carpet heater, thermostatic under-carpet heater, thermostats, or carbon heater film control panels by using our contact information. You can benefit from our advantageous prices including material price or assembly for the whole of Türkiye.

Usage

After the connection of your plug, trigger switch functionality, and capability:

Step A – Disconnected.

You can check the ground connection. If you see any voltage on the banana connector you can say that there is a connection fault. And you should not use the device for your car. You can see normal device tests from the video.

Step B – Connected

CP voltage change by device, and device connected light can see from your EVSE. If you measure any voltage from the banana connector you can say that there is a problem. After that, you can check your EVSE product connections.

Step C – Charging

This step will trigger the EVSE, and you will see the voltage from the banana connector. If you do not see any phase voltage you can say that there is a problem with your EVSE.

Also, the tester will provide the fuse for each phase. When you use the tester for a load simulator it will protect your device from unexpected problems.
